When you reach out to me on LinkedIn, it takes 19 seconds to check out my profile and get an idea of who I am & what I do.

When you reach out to me on Twitter, it takes 20 seconds to check out my profile, click my link in the bio and get an idea of who I am & what I do.

When you reach out to me on Instagram, it takes 19 seconds to check out my profile, click my link in the bio and get an idea of who I am & what I do.

When you land on my website and you wanna reach out via email, all you have to do is invest 58 seconds to click on my social icons and get an idea of who you’re talking to.

Get blocked instantly

The ONE thing that’ll most likely get you blocked is when you reach out to me without ever using at least my name.

Because then I know the sender is bullshit.

The sender is a spammer.

The sender doesn’t respect me.

Why should I give you attention then?

Because you’re not willing to at least invest 17 seconds of your time to know who you’re talking to & AT LEAST address me by my name.

It ain’t rocket science!

So how am I supposed to take you and your message seriously?

It will never happen.

Especially when social media has leveled the playing field for all of us.

We can engage with influencers, decision makers and our target audience in a way like never before.

But with all of that information, if you can’t at least address the person by their name you’re trying to connect with, the least thing that’ll happen is you’ll get flagged as a spammer.

Is that how you wanna do business?

Is that how you wanna build your network?

That everytime you send an email, you land automatically in the spam folder?

Then to avoid this from happening, you’ll start looking for more shortcuts like using different domains with different email addresses.

Maybe this type of email outreach tactics worked in 2006. We’re almost in 2020.

Evolve or die.

Get with the program of being real or be the weasel.

Maybe put some effort into your outreach messages to at least sound like you’ve put in a couple of seconds into researching your prospect, before reaching out.

Or don’t.

And cause your prospect to say

“Ugghh! Another weasel is emailing me..”

Your choice.
